Mostly wonderful
I chose this dishwasher because quiet was a top priority for me, and it doesn't disappoint: it's so quiet that most of the time, the only way I can tell if it's on is to check for the "on" light.
Dishes are coming out nice and clean, though use of a rinse agent is a must. I'm still figuring out the best loading pattern for my usage, but the bottom rack feels less roomy than my old dishwasher's.
The gasket is so tight that any moisture left on the dishes stays there, so opening the door a crack at the end of the cycle gives me better drying results.

Quietest Ever
We had the previous model in our last home and enjoyed the quietness and rack configuration. That model was discontinued, so we got the SHX7ER5. This is the quietest machine ever. If not for the water flowing, you just can't tell if it is on. We did like the rack configuration on the previous model slightly better, but this one is fine as well. We like the clean looks with no controls or lights on the front,(running light reflects from floor.) Matches our Bosch fridge.
Installation and adjustment were no problem.

Bosch SHX7ER5
Our 12 year old Bosch DW recently started making strange noises. This was most unusual as most times you could not even hear it run. Some research and troubleshooting pointed to the circulation pump as the source of the strange noise. After completely disassembling the old DW in an attempt to fix it, I came to the conclusion it was time to replace our trusty old Bosch. I instantly figured we would get another Bosch but when I started researching what was available I was not so sure. I came to realize that the Bosch DW lineup was much different than 12 years ago. Back then I remember having 3 choices, we went with the entry level and were always amazed at how well it worked. We always recommended the Bosch to anyone who would listen. We loved it so much we bought a Bosch washer and dryer.
Now we were not so sure we wanted to get another Bosch when we started reading some of the reviews. So after trips to any store that might have a display model and countless hours researching features online we came to a decision. We bought the SHX7ER5 and have been impressed all over again. This model is extremely quiet and cleans everything we throw at it. We love the 3rd rack for silverware/utensils. Without a silverware basket taking up space, the bottom rack is able to hold more plates and things. It did take a few times to get used to the new racks, but once a system was figured out we can really load it up. The water softener system has worked great with our hard well water. This added feature is a great bonus that only adds to the value of this DW. We have had none of the drying issues that seem to be mentioned in a lot of reviews we read. We have been using our new Bosch for a month plus now and we are completely satisfied.

Good purchase Ever
This is very very quiet, but power cable was too short.
Please check power cable before you purchase.
